| Helen Flaherty Philip Masure and David Munnelly met up playing with their own respective bands and through their musical friendship started playing together and set up there own combination. Flaherty Masure and Munnelly have been playing together since 2003, performing most of the time in the Benelux, UK and Ireland, and are now after finishing a recording of their unmistakable sound. and cittern from Masure with the voice of Helen Flaherty that was described
by Celtic Beat Music Magazine as "musical poetry" fuses together
to give a very unique dynamic, and harmonically rich sound.
Irish button accordion wizard David Munnelly was born in Belmullet County Mayo and comes from a long line of Traditional Musicians, and grew up in a house of Fiddle and single row Accordion music. He is playing since the age of seven and draws on the music of the past masters including the Roaring 20's Flanagan Brothers and JJ Kimmel for inspiration. David with his own band has has toured extensively with hit albums in Europe & Japan and North America, David personally has toured & performed with the Chieftains, DeDanaan, and numerous legendary Irish artists. In 2001, David released his first CD, Swing, based in part on the music & exciting feel of the American Irish Dance Hall scene of the Roaring 20's. 2003 saw the band join the prestigious Irish Unplugged tour of Holland with Francis Black & Kieran Goss. In 2004, David's second CD, "By Heck," was released to critical & popular acclaim in Ireland, Europe & Japan.
Helen is a Scottish singer and bodhran player, living in Antwerp. Helen's
repertoire consists of both traditional and recent compositions in the
traditional vein.
